The corresponding decision for the basis and as a whole was supported by 241 people's deputies. Thus, according to the draft resolution No. 7505 "On the Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the establishment of the Ministry of Ukraine for Veterans Affairs," the new department should ensure the formation and implementation of state policy in the sphere of social protection of war veterans.

The purpose of the document is to create an effective mechanism for the implementation by veterans of war, including from among the participants in the antiterrorist operation, of the families of the state social guarantees that they have lost by creating an integrated state system with one state body headed by the Ministry of Ukraine for Veterans Affairs, explanatory note.

It also says that the Ministry will be established on the basis of the State Service of Ukraine for War Veterans Affairs and participants in the antiterrorist operation.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday, February 27, adopted in the second reading and on the whole bill No. 5442 on ensuring the border security of the state. The document was supported by 251 people's deputies. At the same time, the law provides for increasing fines for resisting border guards and representatives of public organizations that guard the border.
