Ukraine will seek personal sanctions for violating human rights in the Crimea - the Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has been promoting together with social organizations for a year already the necessity of imposing such personal sanctions. This was on Monday evening, on the air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels, said Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine on European integration Sergei Petukhov.

According to him, the sanctions that have already been imposed are connected with annexation, "on the fact of illegal territorial changes under international law".

At the same time, personal sanctions are necessary.

These are hundreds of people in Russia and mostly in the Crimea, such as judges, prosecutors, FSB agents and police officers who torture, detain and intimidate the local population, "the deputy minister explained, adding that such sanctions can evolve by analogy with international practice, as example, he cited the "Magnitsky list".

Recall, February 26 - Day of resistance to the occupation of the Crimea by the Russian Federation.

As reported URA-Inform, yesterday, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe, Dmitry Kuleba, suggested that the Council of Europe take a number of steps to improve the situation with human rights in the Crimea.
