On Sunday, February 25, on the territory of the former village of Guta Penyatskaya in the Lviv region, the Polish official delegation paid tribute to the memory of the Poles who were killed here on February 28, 1944. During the ceremony, the State Secretary of the Chancellery of Duda Adam Kwiatkowski read out the President's address, which referred to the "genocide against the Poles" carried out by Ukrainians in Gut Penyatskoy.

According to Niezalezna, the President of Poland noted that the crime of genocide committed here by policemen in the service of Hitler's Third Reich and Ukrainian nationalists led to the destruction of about a thousand Polish residents of Guta Penyatskaya, as well as Jews and refugees from other cities of Volhynia and Podillya, whom they hid ". At the same time Duda stressed that the Poles are striving for a good relationship with the Ukrainians, but the future should be "built on the basis of truth, not lies or denial".

Our countries need each other to become strong and secure. Therefore, we need a memory and the truth about what happened here on February 28, 1944, the president said, adding that nothing like this should happen again, and the relations between the two countries should be based on a solid foundation and mutual trust.

Recall, on Wednesday evening, February 14, were published in the official journal of the laws of the Republic of Poland, signed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, changes in the law on the Institute of National Memory. It provides for punishment for the accusations of the Poles in the Holocaust, as well as for the propaganda of the "Bandera ideology". According to the document, the law comes into force 14 days after the date of publication, with the exception of two articles that come into force three months after the date of publication.

As reported URA-Inform, on Saturday, Israeli media reported that Poland was subjected to pressure from Israel and froze the law.

The message also says that the other day the Polish delegation will arrive in Israel. The representative of the Ministry of Justice refutes this information. Jan Kantaka said that in Poland every law passed by the parliament and signed by the president is mandatory for execution.

The updated law on the INP comes into force on Thursday, and the Constitutional Court of Poland will start consideration of the updated law on the Institute of National Memory not earlier than two months later, journalists stressed..
