As stated on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered the bill number 8046 (on making changes to the paragraph from Section XII "Final and Transitional Provisions" of the Law "On Education" regarding the clarification of certain provisions). At the same time, at the moment there is no text of the document on the Rada website.
Recall, on February 14 the government approved a bill that should amend the transitional provisions of the law "On Education" and continue the transition period for the implementation of the language article from 2020 to 2023.
The transitional provisions of the law state that "persons belonging to indigenous peoples, national minorities of Ukraine, who have begun to receive general secondary education before September 1, 2018, continue to receive such education by September 1, 2020 in accordance with the rules that existed before the entry into force this law, with the gradual increase in the number of subjects taught in the Ukrainian language ".
As reported URA-Inform, on February 12, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto said that the country will not give up its policy with regard to the Ukrainian law on education without legal guarantees.
