Reasons not to love the present - more than enough. You can not not love the president - for the Maldives. Prosecutor General - for the Seychelles. The Supreme Rada - for amateurism. Government - for corporate identity. All together - for corruption, - writes Pavel Kazarin in the column on "Crimea. Realities ".

You can not love the autodor - for suspension. Admin - for sluggishness. Courts - for the fact that "the place of the damned". In the end, it would be strange to love everything that steals our nerves, time and money.

The only question is, on which side are you offered to play against the present. On the side of the past or future.

Collective past can call itself opposition. Can criticize the reality. Find biting and correct words to describe the status quo. But this does not cancel the fact that the whole cohort of "exes" wants to change the present for the sake of the return of the past.

We lived in this past a quarter of a century. Colonial status - from the sphere of culture to the economy. A buffer deprived of the right to resent its status. Nostalgia as the content of the agenda. Total destruction of the common in the name of a small list of favorites. "God gave us Ukraine, so let's enjoy it".

We began to get out of the swamp only four years ago. In fact, our 2018th is just the 1995th. The one he was supposed to be, if in the 91st the country gained real, not imitation independence. You want to compare Ukraine with its neighbors - make an amendment for a while.

At the same time, our reality does not deserve sympathy. It needs to be changed and reworked, improved and optimized. But all this makes sense only when you are fighting the present on the side of the future.

If you are offered the world at the cost of surrender - this is the past. If you are offered pain medication instead of treatment - this is the past. If to you suggest to be loose and безсубъектными it is the past. With the same success it is possible to criticize the patrol police, offering to revive the traffic police.

The past attempts to erase the ontological difference between itself and the future. Trying to pretend this very future. But its task is not to move the country to tomorrow, but to return it to yesterday. And because it still remains the past. Deprived of any kind of ethical basis.

In the end, everything that happened to us four years ago - was the result of the past. The annexation of the Crimea, the invasion of the Donbass, inflation and crisis have not become the start of a new era. They became the legacy of the previous. Its natural final. The result of the board of those who elected four years ago in ticket offices between Moscow and Vienna.

The past may have many names. The past may be "exes" and those who were fed from their hands. The oligarchs. Bureaucratic lobby. Judicial and prosecutorial caste. Philistines dreaming of Stalin. Philistines dreaming of "the purity of the nation". Each of them can be absolutely accurate in diagnoses. The only question is in the prescriptions of treatment.

The verdict of the present is easy. Especially when it deserves. What is more important is the reality, which the author of criticism considers desirable.

In the same Russia, Vladimir Putin is criticized as those who believe he is "redundant Putin", and those who are convinced that he is "not Putin enough". Between them the abyss.

Context matters. In the battle of the past with the present, I will be on the side of the present. Otherwise, the future never comes.
