This is reported by Die Welt.

In the opinion of the European Commission, at the present time for the countries of the Western Balkans "a historic window of opportunity opens, and their future is firmly and irrevocably linked with the EU.

EU membership of the Western Balkans will benefit the political, economic and security interests of the Union.

However, in Brussels, it is noted that significant reforms are needed for accession in order for interested countries to meet all the criteria for membership. In particular, the European Commission calls for a comprehensive, legally binding agreement between Serbia and Kosovo.

The document also says that the EU will significantly increase its support for the process of transformation of the Western Balkans.

To this end, the European Commission has developed a detailed action plan for countries.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, the EU intends to identify the following countries that can qualify for membership in a European family. It is reported that Albania, Bosnia, Macedonia and Kosovo have already signed a document on the possibility of European integration to the European Union if the leaders of these countries are ready to implement reforms and changes in the country, change attitudes towards political leaders and fight corruption.
