The so-called law on "banderism" was supported by the Commission on Human Rights, the Rule of Law, and on Culture. 11 senators voted "for", against - five, abstained - 0. As Onet Suggests. pl, the law states that anyone who publicly and contrary to facts ascribes to the Polish people or state responsibility or involvement in the crimes of the Third Reich or other crimes against humanity, peace and war crimes faces a fine or imprisonment for up to three years.

It was to this situation that the senators did not want to make changes. In addition, they rejected the amendment, according to which they had to remove the entry about "the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists".

Recall, the Sejm of Poland on January 26, 2018, passed a law banning the propaganda of the so-called "Bandera ideology".

The law concerns the definition of crimes of Ukrainian nationalists and Ukrainian organizations that cooperated with the Third Reich during the Second World War and responsible for events in Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland.

As reported URA-Inform, the president of Poland Andrzej Duda promised to analyze the bill providing for criminal punishment for statements about the involvement of the Poles in the Holocaust and the propaganda of the so-called "Bandera ideology".
