In the Kremlin, an unprecedented publication by the US Ministry of Finance of a list of those close to President Vladimir Putin. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov announced this to journalists. "You can also pay attention to the fact that de facto all [list members] are called enemies of the United States," he added, referring to the title of the document.
He noted that it would be possible to discuss the list in detail only after his careful analysis. Then it becomes clear whether Russia will somehow respond to the publication.
Peskov also commented on the inclusion of his name in the list: "Well, there are the same surnames of all". He added that it refers to this indifferently.
On January 30, the US Ministry of Finance published a list of 114 officials and 96 oligarchs under the law on anti-Russian sanctions.
The list includes employees of the presidential administration, members of the government, parliamentarians, heads of departments and state-owned companies, as well as all Russians whose fortune exceeds a billion dollars.
The new list does not imply the automatic imposition of sanctions against those who entered it. The Ministry of Finance also prepared a secret part of the list, which included other individuals (not officials and not big businessmen) and state-owned companies.
