Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov "just blatantly deceives journalists, hoping that none of them will look in the original text". On Monday, January 15, commenting on today's statement of the Russian minister, said the representative of Ukraine in the subgroup on security issues of the Tripartite Contact Group, former Prime Minister, former Minister of Defense and former NSDC Secretary Yevhen Marchuk.
At the same time, he offers to look into the text of the Budapest Memorandum and read only Article No. 2 of this document. It says that the signatories "confirm their commitments and that no weapon will ever be used against Ukraine," wrote Marchuk on his Facebook page.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, today Sergei Lavrov said that Russia has not violated the Budapest Memorandum, since it did not use against Ukraine nuclear weapons.
Moreover, Lavrov noted that Ukraine, in parallel with the Budapest Memorandum, allegedly undertook in a separate statement not to "encourage racist, neo-Nazi, xenophobic tendencies, and what happened after Maidan was a gross violation of these obligations of our Ukrainian neighbors".
