Ten people were killed in protests in Iran

During the anti-government demonstrations in the city of Dorud in the west of Iran, ten demonstrators were killed, the dpa agency reported on Monday, January 1 referring to the Iranian state television channel. The first information about the death of the protesters appeared on social networks in the evening on December 30, the next day they were officially confirmed by the Iranian state television channel on its Internet portal. It was about two demonstrators.



The administration of the province Lorestan said that the protesters did not die at the hands of the police. According to the head of the security service of the province Habibollah Hodshast, there are "testimonies" of the fact that militants of the jihadi organization "Islamic State".

Mass protests began in a number of cities in Iran on Thursday, December 28. They, as reported by the Iranian media, are directed against Tehran's economic policy and the high cost of living.
