"Three Pakistani soldiers were killed today and one wounded as a result of a cross-border firing by Indian security forces of the control line," the Pakistan Interagency Communications Service. The shelling took place in the Ruch Chakri sector in Ravlakot and received a powerful corresponding response from the Pakistani troops.

As the Pakistani side notes, "it was India that initiated the unprovoked violation of the ceasefire regime, which led to an exchange of blows between the border troops of the two countries".

Another incident on the line of control occurred two days after the shelling by Pakistan of the Keri sector in the state of Jammu and Kashmir killed a major and three soldiers of the Indian army.

India and Pakistan dispute the ownership of the territory of the ancient principality of Kashmir since 1947, when British India, after gaining independence, split into two states on religious grounds. Now in Kashmir there is no state border - it is divided by the control line.
