This is reported by the South Korean newspaper JoongAng with reference to an official in Seoul.

As noted, the satellite will be installed telecommunications intelligence equipment and cameras. It is known that the previous satellite - Kwangmyongsong-4 - North Korea put into orbit in February 2016.

"The rocket is an improved modification of the carrier Ynha-3, a civilian version of the intercontinental ballistic missile Taepodon-2," the message said..

At the same time, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea stated that they did not record anything unusual in the behavior of Pyongyang. Nevertheless, the agency continues to closely monitor the actions of the DPRK, including missile launches, capable of bringing satellites into orbit.

Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform", from the Wallops Island in the US state of Virginia successfully launched the medium-sized medium-range missile Antares-230. It was built with the participation of Ukrainian specialists.
