Rahoy claims that he will only talk with the legally elected head of the Catalan Generalitat, since only in this way will it be possible to find a common language with the inhabitants of Catalonia. At the request of Carles Puigdemona to hold joint talks in Brussels, the Prime Minister replied in the negative. He reminded Puchdemona that he was in Spain waiting for an arrest warrant, and that the latter must necessarily answer for his unconstitutional actions.

Earlier in Catalonia, local elections to the Generalitat were held, according to the votes of the electorate, the majority in the parliament will be occupied by the Promadrits party loyal to Rahoyu. However, they will not be able to form a coalition majority, as they are opposed by separatists and independence fans who gained 30 percent of the vote in the elections. Puchdemon's party could not make it to the Generalitat.
