Duda signed the judicial reform of Poland

They concern the National Council of Judges and the Supreme Court. As reported by "Polish Radio", in a special statement, the head of the Polish state drew attention to the fact that the signed laws differ from those that the parliament adopted in July.

According to him, in them, in particular, the powers of the Minister of Justice and the rules for the retirement of judges of the Supreme Court. Thus, in Poland, after the law comes into force, the number of judges of the Supreme Court will increase, and the court will be able to make decisions faster,.

He also added that the document envisages the creation of two new chambers in this body. One of them will be able to consider sentences.

Speaking about the Regional Judicial Council, President Duda estimated that this body serves to democratize.

In this council there will be representatives of citizens whom the Diet will choose, the president has explained.

Let's remind, yesterday the European commission has considered a question on the beginning of procedure of introduction of sanctions against Poland for infringements of norms of supremacy of the right.

As reported URA-Inform, the Senate of Poland adopted a new law on judicial reform. The bill was passed despite protests under the Polish parliament.
