Such a decision was made in connection with the complaint of Ukrainian state-owned company Ukrinmash. As explained by the Bulgarian Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov, the deal was suspended a week after Bulgaria offered the Russian company to modernize obsolete MiG fighters.

At the same time, the Russian corporation in Bulgaria is considered to be the only company that can perform the necessary work, because of what the companies of other countries were not invited to take part in the transaction.

Ukraine has filed a complaint with the Commission for the Protection of Competition to challenge the procedure under which the Bulgarian Defense Ministry was preparing for negotiations and was about to sign a treaty.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, December 11, it was reported that the Bulgarian authorities asked the Russian aircraft building corporation "MiG" to overhaul and engage in servicing 15 MiG-29 fighters.
