Zegofer somewhat lost the support of party members and received 83 percent of the vote, but this majority was enough to re-occupy this post. He has been occupying it since 2008. Even then, Zehefer promised that after the expiry of the term in 2017 he would transfer the vacant seat to his competitor to 50-year-old Finance Minister Marcus Zeder. However, the latter refused to fast, and thus, Zegofer remained the only candidate for this position.
It is noteworthy that under the cadence of Seegofer CSU took the least number of mandates in the Bundestag, but in the land parliament CSU still holds the forefront.
As reported in the "URA-Inform", in Germany, negotiations continue on the creation of a coalition.
