Turchinov suggested NATO expand joint military programs

Within the framework of the working visit to the NATO leadership, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov visited the headquarters of the United Armed Forces of Europe in Europe, where he held talks with the military leadership of the Alliance.

According to the press service of the National Security and Defense Council, during the talks the parties analyzed the current security situation in Ukraine and Europe, formed as a result of the hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation.

According to Turchinov, to ensure security in Europe it is extremely important to increase cooperation between Ukraine and NATO. In this context, the parties discussed the possible expansion of military programs that can be implemented with the participation of Ukraine.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stressed that our state does not intend to reduce its contribution to the international operations of NATO and the NATO Response Force.

In addition, it was about improving the exchange of information between the intelligence agencies of Ukraine and the Alliance and cooperation in ensuring a reliable counteraction to cybernetic aggression.

During his stay at the headquarters of the United Armed Forces of NATO, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine got acquainted with the experience of functioning of the Multi-purpose Center for Management of Operations on Crisis Management of NATO.



According to Turchinov, it is extremely important for Ukraine to switch to modern systems of analysis and decision-making, "it is precisely these technologies that are developed in the Main Situation Center of Ukraine under the National Security and Defense Council and the system of situational centers that are built around the country".

Turchinov explained that it was a question of modern information technologies, "which allow for rapid and qualitative analysis of the situation using all available sources of information, and timely and adequately respond to modern challenges".

"In this context, it is very important for us to study NATO's experience," he said after visiting the NATO's Multi-purpose Center for Crisis Management Operations.
