US President Donald Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He has already instructed the US State Department to begin work on the transfer of the US diplomatic mission to Jerusalem. Until now it, like all other embassies, was in Tel Aviv.

The question of Jerusalem has long been a pain point in the Middle East, where the world is very fragile. According to the US president, more than 20 years, US presidents have postponed the transfer of the capital of Israel. At the same time, Trump said that Jerusalem will remain a holy place for the three confessions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Trump's initiative runs counter to the already well-established approach of the world community to the status of Jerusalem. The eastern part of the city is claimed by the Palestinians. The law on the postponement of the US embassy was adopted in 1995. The transfer was to be completed by the end of May 1999. But Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama were eager to avoid taking steps that could aggravate the already turbulent situation in the Middle East. Trump's decision was rejoiced only in Israel.

The statement of the American president was immediately followed by the reaction of the whole world. In many countries there were numerous rallies of Muslims. The head of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas said: "Trump's decision contradicts international resolutions and undermines efforts to achieve peace in the region, and also represents a statement about the US refusal to sponsor in the peace process". In Palestine, Trump's decision was called "a crazy step". French President Emmanuelle Macron said that Paris does not support this "regrettable step". I do not agree with the decision of Trump and Angela Merkel. Teresa May said that the British Embassy will remain in Tel Aviv. Irresponsible step called the decision of Trump MFA of Turkey. With condemnation spoke about the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Iran, Italy and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Lebanon's Prime Minister, Gibran Basil, called on the League of Arab States to impose political, economic and financial sanctions against the US if the problem can not be resolved at the diplomatic level.

However, on the achieved Donald Trump did not stop. On December 9, speaking to his supporters in Pensacola, Florida, he said that the American nation had won two world wars, dug the Panama Canal and defeated communism. What can not be said, having believed in one's own uniqueness. Chairman of the temporary commission of the Council of the Federation for Information Policy Alexei Pushkov replied to this on Twitter: "In assessing the historic role of the US, Trump would have to remember: in the first world role was auxiliary, in the second they would not have defeated Hitler without the USSR".

More ironically commented on the statement of Trump deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Franz Klintsevich: "May Donald Trump forgive me, but his statement about the victory of the United States in two world wars is very similar to the fluttering of a fly from a fable plowed on the bull's back:" I would not have coped bull with work without me! "Klintsevich expressed surprise that Trump did not attribute the US and the victory over Napoleon Bonaparte.
