Czech President Milos Zeman was indignant at the publication in the Russian media of statements that Prague should be grateful to the USSR for the invasion of the country in 1968.

This is reported by "Echo of Moscow".

Currently, Zeman is on a visit to Russia.

The official television channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Zvezda" recently published on its website a note on the events in Czechoslovakia in 1968. In particular, it said that Prague should be grateful to the USSR for the invasion, as it allegedly prevented a coup organized by the West.

From the conversation about this article, Zeman began a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The President of the Czech Republic called this publication an insult to the Czech people. He also urged the Russian premier to publicly state that she has nothing to do with Moscow's opinion.

TC Zvezda removed a tweet and an article about the fact that the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 "saved the world". But the Czech president, Milos Zeman, who came to Russia, called the article an insult to the Czech people right at the meeting with Medvedev.
