Sam Sharoiko admitted that he is a career intelligence officer of Ukraine. He named his military rank - Colonel.

This on Monday, November 20, at a briefing in Minsk, said an official representative of the Belarusian department Dmitry Pobierzhin. According to him, on October 25, the KGB red-handed detained a cadre of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Taking into account the experience of his work as the head of the press service of the department for covering it, he was appointed a correspondent of the public national television and radio company of Ukraine, - said Pobierzhin.

He also assured that the Ukrainian "created an intelligence network of citizens of Belarus who, for a monetary reward, carried out his task of gathering information of intelligence in the military and political sphere".

A criminal case was opened against Sharoiko under the article "Espionage", he said, adding that a preventive measure has already been adopted in the form of detention.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sharoiko was detained in Minsk on October 25. On the same day, in an apartment where Paul lives with his family - his wife Elena and her daughter - a search was carried out. The detention was conducted by the KGB of Belarus.
