This is stated in a message on the website of the Council of the EU.
It is reported that the new system will reduce the time for passing control and improve the quality of verification. In addition, it will ensure systematic security and combat terrorism.
As noted in the department, first of all this is due to the fact that law enforcement officers will have access to the history of travel magazines.
Now that the system has become fully valid, a signature is required for the adopted resolution of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.
Then the document will be published in the official journal of the European Union, it will come into force in 20 days.
By the way, it is expected that the new system will be put into operation by 2020.
Recall, as reported by "URA-Inform," earlier the European Parliament at the plenary session in Strasbourg approved the draft directive on the commissioning in the European Union of an automatic registration system at the borders in the Schengen area.
