The referendum on the resignation of the mayor of Chisinau was declared invalid

This decision was made in connection with the low appearance of citizens. As reported by Moldpress, referring to the data of the Central Election Commission of the country, 17.53% of the listed citizens came to the vote then, as for the recognition of the referendum, the participation of at least one third of those having the right to vote.

At that, out of those who came to polling stations for the resignation of the accused in corruption and abuse of authority Chirtoaca, 87%.

He already thanked the residents of Chisinau for not supporting the referendum.

Nevertheless, despite the failure of the referendum, he will remain suspended from power until a decision is made on criminal cases brought against him.

Recall that the referendum on the resignation of the mayor of Chisinau was initiated by the socialists in connection with the initiation of several criminal cases against abuse of office and corruption by Chirtoaca.
