This is reported by Ukrainian media.

It is noteworthy that this project was submitted jointly with countries such as Bolivia and China.

The UN Security Council did not pass a draft resolution concerning the extension of the mandate of the investigation into the use of chemical weapons in Syria, which was filed by Russia.

The project was positively supported by only four of the 15 UN members, including the very initiator - Russia. Seven voted "against", the four remaining - abstained.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, the European Union is going to consider the introduction of new economic sanctions against Syria. According to the head of EU diplomacy, the EU has introduced additional restrictive measures against Syrian high-ranking officials and scientists for their role in the development and use of chemical weapons against civilians.
