The corresponding agreement was reached by the Director of the Department of Scientific and Technical Development of the Ministry of Education, the representative of the Government of Ukraine in the Secretariat of the Antarctic Treaty Dmitry Cheberkus and Yves Freno, the director of the Polar-Emile Victor Polar Institute.
According to Chebkis, the research can be both short-term projects, and long-term ones - for up to one year. At the moment, Ukrainian scientists are already interested in two projects on research in the Kerguelen Archipelago.
Let us note that a number of scientific proposals have been received from France in such areas as geology, climate, wildlife, astronomy, seismology and the like. By the way, Ukraine and France agreed to hold a joint scientific seminar in the spring of 2018, as well as cultural events to popularize research in Antarctica.
