On the second stage of the voting process came out the incumbent President Borut Pahor, who managed to collect 47 percent of the vote and Marjan Sharetz, who won the support of 27 percent of the votes of the electorate. The likely candidate for the presidency of the country - Pahor was previously the head of the Social Democrats. It was he who led the Slovenian government from 2008 to 2012 - during the worst financial crisis in the history of the country.

His rival Sharec has no political career. He is a comedian, two-time mayor of the city of Kamnik.

As reported in "URA-Inform", in the second round of voting did not get the candidate from the Slovenian Democratic Party Roman Tomz, who was able to gain only 13 percent of the votes of the electorate.
