The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv did not grant the request of the lawyers, in which they asked the court to oblige the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine to recognize the former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, who was injured in the criminal proceedings in connection with the assassination of unidentified persons in 2014, reports UNN referring to the resolution of the Pechersk District Court Kiev.

The decree says that the Department of Special Investigations of the GPU carries out pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings of May 29, 2015 on the fact of committing between February 21 and April 22, 2014 "unidentified persons for the use of firearms for deliberate acts aimed at committing a willful killing" of ex- President Viktor Yanukovych on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for. 1 st. 15 p. 12 h. 2 items. 115 Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As part of this production, lawyers had previously applied to the investigator for a petition for Yanukovych to be recognized as injured, and for lawyer Igor Fedorenko as a representative of the victim. However, the investigator refused on February 22 this year, after which this decision was quashed in June by the court.

Lawyers re-filed such a petition, but the investigator again refused.

Therefore, on September 21 of this year, lawyer Igor Fedorenko filed a lawsuit against the inaction of the officials of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine regarding the non-examination of the petition, as well as with the request to perform procedural actions to recognize Yanukovych as the victim in the case.

The investigating judge, according to the resolution, refused to satisfy the complaint, arguing for his decision that the lawyer's application for the recognition of Yanukovych to the injured had already been examined and the investigator had issued a reasoned decision, which was further confirmed by the court.
