American journalist: Why Trump turned a blind eye to the massacre in Las Vegas

If only Stephen Paddock was a Muslim. If only he shouted "Allah Akbar" before opening fire on viewers in Las Vegas. If he was a member of the IG. If we had a picture, how he poses with the Koran in one hand and a rifle - in another.

If all this were, no one would say that we dishonored the victims and "politicized" the massacre committed by Paddock, speaking of preventive measures.

No, no and NO. Then we know what to do. We would schedule an immediate hearing in Congress on the worst act of terrorism in our country from 11/09. Then Donald Trump would tweet every hour: "I told you", as he does it a minute after the terrorist attack in Europe, it was for the sake of politicization. Then there would be immediate calls to create a commission to conduct an investigation to find out what laws to write to avoid a recurrence. Then we would "weigh all the options" against the country of origin.

But what if the country of origin is the US?.

What happens when the killer was just an anxious, armed to the teeth American with a military-style weapon that he bought legally and easily received because of us and our crazy weak arms laws.

We know what is happening: the president and the Republican Party are going crazy, trying to convince that nothing has happened. Then they insist (unlike the cases with any terrorist act related to the IG) that the event can not be "politicized" and ask everyone, in particular, to look in the mirror and rethink the rejection of the ordinary law on weapons.

So, let's see: we will turn the world upside down to track down the last IG fighter in Syria. We will ask our best young men and women to sacrifice to kill or catch the last terrorist. How many Americans killed the IG in the Middle East? I forgot. 15 or 20? And the American president never stops telling us that when it comes to the IG, victory is not an option, he can not be forgiven, he is very cruel, even appointed a minister of defense with the nickname "Mad Dog".

But when you need to fight the National Rifle Association of the United States (NSA), which has done more than anyone else to impose weapons laws - victory is not an option, there can not be regulation, and the president and the Republicans do not have a rabid dog, only kittens.

And they will not ask themselves to bring even the smallest sacrifice - to risk their place in Congress by defending legislation that could complicate the Americans creating their own arsenal, such as Paddock had - 42 rifles, some of them - assault rifles: 23 in his hotel room and 19 houses - and thousands more ammunition and some "electronic devices". Yes, it's just another deer hunter.

In the crushing of the IG - our president and his entire party "for". In referring to the NSA for at least a minimum regulation - everything in the self-winds. No matter how many innocent people are shot, the fact that one of them, the leaders of the Congress, was seriously wounded while playing baseball - there is simply no time to discuss any political steps to reduce violence with firearms.

And following the unprecedented hurricanes that have come from the Atlantic, which have damaged more than $ 200 billion in Houston and Puerto Rico, not to mention the smaller cities, Scott Pruitt, the tramp's head of the Environmental Protection Agency, also says it was not suitable time to discuss the "causes and effects" of these superstorms and how to reduce the damage. We need to focus on helping the victims, he said.. But for Scott Pruitt, serious talk about climate change is always on time.

To take IG seriously abroad, and then do nothing to weaken other real threats in my own backyard and concert venues - complete insanity.

This is also corruption. Because it is promoted by money and greed - gunsmiths and arms sellers, oil and coal companies, as well as all regulators and legislators they bought or paid for for silence. They know very well that most Americans do not want to give up the right to hunt or defend themselves.

All we want is the right of a person to collect an arsenal at home and in a hotel and use it on innocent Americans at a time of uncontrollable rage. But the NSA contains these cowardly legislators.

What to do?.

Forget about legislators' conviction. They are not confused and not uninformed. They were either bought or intimidated. Because no honest and honest American legislator can now look at Las Vegas or Puerto Rico and say: "I think the most reasonable thing we can do for our children is not to do anything".
