This was reported by the press service of the Defense Forces, noting that Defense Minister Juri Luik signed a decree according to which in 2018, 7520 reservists and almost 400 volunteers should attend the training camps. In 2018, also for the second time large-scale exercises will be held under the code name Siil, in which it is expected to involve about 6808 reservists. Another 502 reservists next year should take part in the training sessions of the Defense Forces, notes postimees. As explained by the Minister of Defense Juri Luik, training camps are conducted to check the level of readiness of reservists to act in wartime conditions and to interact in units and subunits. "Training camps for reservists are an important part of the state defense, they help maintain the reservists' alertness at a high level and develop the ability of the Defense Forces to respond quickly. The reservists participating in the gatherings personify the general readiness to defend the homeland and their people, "said Luik. In 2018, training fees will be divided into eight stages. In general, the call for fees is made in three stages - the first call on officers, then the junior command staff and the last rank-and-file.

Officers, junior command staff and rank and file can be summoned at different times and several times. Those who are not liable for military service, but would like to take part in this kind of gathering, have the opportunity to do so by joining the Defense League. Last week, the government approved a decision to raise fees to participants in fees of 10 euros. Starting from January 2018, this fee will amount to 37 euros, the junior command staff 40 euros and officers 50 euros for the calendar day..
