For document No. 0155 "On ratification of the Agreement (in the form of an exchange of notes) between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Latvia on the implementation of paid activities by family members of employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices," after a series of unsuccessful attempts, 226 people's deputies voted.

At the same time, the explanatory note to the draft law says that the document will promote the further realization of the right to work, maintaining the level of qualification and obtaining opportunities for further professional development by family members of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Ukraine in Latvia, and vice versa.

Ratification of the agreement will simplify the procedure for employment of this category of persons and create on a reciprocal basis legal grounds for employment as family members of employees of the diplomatic service of Ukraine in Latvia and family members of staff of diplomatic institutions of Latvia in Ukraine.

The income received by family members of the diplomatic service of Latvia in Ukraine and vice versa will be levied on a general basis, the document says.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, today the parliament has ratified an additional protocol to the agreement with Croatia on investment protection.
