The referendum, as such, is not provided for in Spain by law, - explained the head of the government on Sunday evening, October 1, during a press conference. At the same time, Rakhoy thanked the siloviki, who "fulfilled their duty", dispersing protesters in Catalonia, as well as leaders of other countries that condemned the holding of a referendum.

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that the government is still open to dialogue with the Catalans.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the head of the Government of Catalonia Carles Puicdemon said that for separation from Spain on Sunday, October 1, in a referendum expressed 90% of the inhabitants of Catalonia.

However, according to data from clashes with the Spanish police near the polling stations, more than a thousand people were injured.
