Seoul and Tokyo agreed on "more stringent and significant" measures against the DPRK

Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying during a 20-minute telephone conversation discussed the nuclear test of the DPRK, Yonhap agency reports..

They agreed on "much more stringent and more significant" measures against North Korea in connection with the latest nuclear tests of the DPRK.

Heads of states also agreed to seek a "stronger" UN Security Council resolution on sanctions against North Korea.

Recall, September 3, 2017, North Korean authorities announced the successful test of a warhead with a thermonuclear charge for an intercontinental ballistic missile.



The head of the Pentagon, James Mattis, commenting on the new ballistic tests of North Korea, said that Washington does not seek to completely destroy the DPRK, but the US government "has many options for this".

US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday, September 3, also discussed the latest nuclear test of North Korea.

The White House reported that Trump and Abe condemned the continuing destabilizing and provocative actions of the DPRK and confirmed the "inviolable defense commitments of the two countries to each other".
