This was stated by the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on a daily briefing to journalists.
According to the secretary, the president himself initiated such actions against the Russian Federation.
Sanders notes that Trump is trying to seek a compromise with President Putin, but is forced to fairly respond and take action against rash decisions from the Russian side.
"The president does not try to unleash a new" cold war, "but will act in solidarity with the world community," said Sanders.
Recall that recently the US temporarily stopped issuing visa documents to Russian citizens, advising to apply for the issuance of documents to the consulates of other neighboring countries of the Russian Federation.
As reported in the "URA-Inform", previously the United States for an indefinite period limited the issuance of nonimmigrant visas throughout Russia.
