In a situation where the Kremlin does not abandon the idea of ??opening a "second front" in the south of Ukraine, NATO is practicing tactics in the Black Sea that the Soviet Union used in Libya at one time: the alliance ships will enter this or that port at the first threat to Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Officers of Ukraine Yevgeny Lupakov.

According to him, such a tactic of military support for the allies was used even in the days of the Soviet Union. "At one time in each port of Libya there was at least one Soviet warship. As soon as he left the port, the Americans immediately flew and bombed this port, "- said Lupakov.

According to him, the last call of two NATO ships to the port of Odessa is connected with the dangerous situation in the region. "A month ago, the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Navy said that information was received about the upcoming landing of Russian troops in the Odessa region. They are eager for Transnistria, they want to open a second front in Ukraine, and therefore approach Odessa. There is prepared a huge group of militants who sit around. According to the Kremlin's idea, they should be involved in Ukraine, for this they were trained. And here also Moldova demands to withdraw the Russian contingent. They have problems there, "the expert stated..

As Lupakov explained, the presence of NATO warships off the coast of Ukraine nullifies all these plans. "They will not bomb the Americans, Russia is not going to fight with the US. Because any flight of an aircraft in the area of ??combat use of US weapons can be perceived as a potential attack, and it simply knocked down. Especially since there is a threat of invasion ".

- NATO ships will be on the coast of Ukraine constantly?.

"As soon as there is a threat for Ukraine - definitely. This is a variant already worked out by the Soviet Union, "he said..

On July 24 two NATO ships entered the port of Odessa: the destroyer of the Royal Navy of Great Britain D37 "DUNCAN" and the frigate of the Turkish Navy F243 "YILDIRIM", which will stay there until July 27. The program of the visit provides for an excursion to the ships for all comers, as well as friendly meetings with the Ukrainian military.
