Vitaly Portnikov wrote on the portal LIGA about the meaning of the debate between two persons of one "Russian world".

In May 1987, after a loud rally on Manezhnaya Square in the very center of the Soviet capital, activists of the newly established chauvinist anti-Semitic organization "Memory" were received at the Moscow City Committee of the CPSU by one of the most famous "superintendents of perestroika", a candidate member of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee, first secretary The city committee, the violent exposer of the inertia of the party apparatus Boris Yeltsin. This meeting between the party functionary and the ghouls did not go unnoticed, primarily by those who saw the process of democratization in the restructuring and did not understand how one of the most prominent representatives of the "innovators" in the party leadership can communicate with terry reactionaries. Advocates of change did not realize that certain circles in power - primarily those connected with special services - are already beginning to develop the "Yeltsin" project, whose main goal will be the creation of a reserve figure in the event of the complete and final collapse of the Soviet regime. And the main task of this figure is to preserve and consolidate the positions of the special services and the criminal world associated with them in the life of Soviet society.

Now, 30 years after that memorable meeting, it can be stated that the first secretary of the CPSU MGK, a candidate member of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee and a daring fighter against corruption (or whatever it was called there?), Boris Yeltsin coped with his task one hundred percent. But the system is again close to the crisis and collapse. And after exactly 30 years, the intelligence officer and the new face of the "Russian world" Igor Strelkov offers a debate to the head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, a supporter of changes to Alexei Navalny.

The proposal is accepted. What is important here is not the very fact of the debate. It is important to show the public - including frankly chauvinistic, reactionary - that the future "leader" is able to talk with all. The Democrats will wake up as they wiped away after Yeltsin's meeting with "Memory". Democrats in Russia still have no chance to come to power on their own, their hope for change is always connected with some other popular (read - chekist) favorite, which will support the majority of "dear Russians". And chauvinists - will remember that you can talk to this person. For them, such a debate - the same signal as the meeting of Yeltsin with "Memory": his man, Russian, you can talk.

I'm not going to say that Navalny is an agent of the FSB. Navalny - a project of special services in a much broader sense of the word. Yeltsin, too, was not an agent of the KGB: high-ranking employees of the party apparatus - and the future Russian president was referring to this closed caste - it was strictly forbidden to recruit. But it was not forbidden to communicate, cooperate, look for interest. Yeltsin needed power - a lot of power, all power. The Chekists needed access to financial flows and maintaining control over the country - all control, without "party". "Tsehovikam" and enterprising Komsomol activists, who turned into new Russian entrepreneurs and "oligarchs" needed money - a lot of money, all the money. These three forces in 1991 destroyed the CPSU and the Soviet Union, in 1993 they beat off competitors from among the apparatchiks and established full control over Russia, its inhabitants, its money: the Russians themselves did not notice how they turned into serfs.

Bulk, although criticizing Yeltsin, says exactly what Yeltsin used to say before. What the average Russian, chauvinist and obscurantist wants to hear, but at the same time - a small man with a child's psyche, who simply dreams to live better. Therefore, to discuss the foreign policy escapades of the oppositionist, his thoughts about the Donbass and the Crimea - ungrateful business, this is just a conjuncture of the moment. Yeltsin also was a supporter of the preservation of the USSR - under his authority, of course, but in the hour of the day he agreed with the independence of the union republics, and with the appearance of their own armed forces and currencies, even he himself pushed those who do not understand to the final branch. Navalny, if he comes to power at a time of crisis, will agree not only with the withdrawal from Donbass and the Crimea, but also with the independence of Chechnya or Tatarstan - the question will be only in what territory the related groups will want to retain their power, and on what - Their influence.

Of course, the figure of Navalny is incomparable in scale with the figure of Yeltsin. Even at the first stage of his career, Yeltsin was a real politician, he looked like a leader of the masses. Bulk - does not look like. But the possibility of the collapse of the regime today is not so obvious and close to the Chekists, as in the late 1980s. Yeltsin was preparing to replace Gorbachev, losing control over the state and not wanting to change anything in the economy. Putin - not yet Gorbachev, it is rather slowly aging, falling into marasmus and living his own world Brezhnev or Andropov. But if the calculation of the Chekists is correct, this Brezhnev will inevitably be replaced by a new Gorbachev from the near circle.

Gorbachev, who will try to reform the unreformed system, without seriously changing anything. And the system, like in the late 80's, will begin to crumble really - especially since this new Gorbachev citizens will no longer be afraid as they fear Putin.

That's when the Chekists and bandits really need Navalny - this or any other, there is no difference, there would be a place, but there is a little man. By this time they will have time to grow their new Yeltsin, and agree on everything with him.
