Principal disagreements remain on the future rights of citizens, both Britain and the European Union. As reported by DW, which refers to the words of the head of the EU delegation Michel Barnier, following the results of the four-day discussions in Brussels, the EU and the United Kingdom could not agree.

The UK also leaves open the question of whether it will pay compensation for withdrawing from the EU.

Negotiations between the parties will continue at the end of August 2017, "Barnier emphasized, noting that by this time Brussels will expect clarity from London on such key issues as the rights of citizens of each side, the border between Northern Ireland and the EU member Ireland, as well as financial UK obligations to the EU.

He also stressed that the free trade negotiations between the EU and Britain, in which London is interested, can only be conducted after addressing key issues.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, on Monday, July 17, in Brussels, began the first round of negotiations between the UK and the European Union on Brexit. The first round of talks will last four days, and a press conference is expected on its results.
