Leaders of the two countries discussed the conflict in eastern Ukraine. As reported by DW, the meeting took place on the eve of the G20 summit and lasted about an hour instead of the planned 45 minutes.

It was also attended by German Foreign Minister Zigmar Gabriel and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. The leaders of the two countries also discussed the situation in North Korea and the Middle East.

Recall, US President Donald Trump arrived in Hamburg for the G20 summit, which will be opened today and will last two days. Trump will also take part in a dinner with South Korean President Mun Jae-Inong and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, which will discuss the launch in North Korea this week of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

As reported URA-Inform, yesterday Trump was on a visit to Poland, where he met with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
