Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, Hugues Mingarelli urged to immediately reform the Security Service. This is reported by UNIAN.
"The SBU is largely unreformed. It is important to ensure as soon as possible that the SBU focuses on counterintelligence and countering terrorism, as well as stop its activities entrusted to [other] law enforcement agencies, "said Mingarelli.
As a function that the SBU should abandon, the EU ambassador called the fight against corruption.
Also, Mingarelli urged the country's authorities to establish an anti-corruption court and complete the reform of the judicial system.
"Without the new anticorruption court, the establishment of the rule of law will be impossible," the EU official added..
