At the meeting of the BSEC PA, the Ukrainian delegation will face not only economic but also political issues. This view was expressed by the Verkhovna Rada deputy of the People's Front faction, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, Irina Efremova, before a visit to Turkey, where the 49th General Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation will be held on July 5-6..

She noted that, despite the fact that the organization is called upon to contribute to strengthening economic ties between participating countries, the Ukrainian delegation faces political challenges.

"The Kremlin does not miss a chance to try to legitimize the annexation of the Crimea and in this situation the BSEC meeting is not an exception. The Russian delegation included the so-called deputy of the State Duma, who was illegally elected from the Crimea.

Our task is to explain diplomatically to representatives of delegations why this person should not receive the mandate of a member of the BSEC BSEC.

I think we can bring the necessary arguments and convince the delegations of the participating countries not to play up to Russia, thus not violating the norms of international law, "explained Irina Efremova.

The People's Deputy also noted that there are many important issues on the agenda that could give new impetus to economic relations between member countries.

Irina Efremova also reminded that Ukraine will lead the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization within the next 6 months.
