The corresponding bill received political support from the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. As reported on Monday, July 3, the European Commission, work on such a system was conducted since April last year.

It will register data on the entry and exit of citizens of countries outside the EU, when crossing the external borders of the Union. At the same time, the communique of the document says that this will allow better control of legal short-term trips of citizens of third countries to the European Union, as well as to identify illegally delayed.

This is the next step in further strengthening the control of external borders, undertaken by Brussels against the background of the migration crisis and the growth of the terrorist threat, the European Commission believes, adding that discussion of the document will continue at the technical level between the European Parliament and the EU Council before they jointly adopt the final text.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, was previously introduced systematic monitoring of all who cross the external border, including EU citizens, the creation of the European Border Guard and Coast Guard to help the national border services of the EU countries whose borders coincide with the external borders of the Union.
