Such information is reported by the press service of the Council of the European Union.

Note that this system will apply to citizens who cross the EU border without visas for short trips for a period of not more than 90 days within six months.

According to recently received information, the new entry-exit system will store information about the identity and documents of travelers.

In addition, it will store biometric data. In turn, these data will be stored in a single system for a period of three to five years.

In addition, the stored information will be available to the border authorities and authorities of the EU member states. In particular for border guards that will check whether a third-country national fulfills the conditions for entry or stay.

By the way, the new rules will help reduce border crossing time and improve the quality of border checks. They will also help in the fight against terrorism, allowing law enforcement bodies to gain access to the history of border crossings by the traveler.

Recall, as reported by URA-Inform, since the beginning of the new week, when the agreement on visa-free travel entered into force, almost 3200 Ukrainian citizens crossed the border with Europe.
