The exercises in Belarus have formed a Russian-Belarusian-Serbian battalion

The exercises "Slavic Brotherhood - 2017" for the first time formed a multinational battalion group of servicemen from Russia, Belarus and Serbia. This, according to TASS, was reported by the deputy leader of the exercises from the Russian side, Colonel Alexei Sgibnev.

Earlier, the participants of the "Slavic Brotherhood" acted on the exercises only as part of national contingents.

The multinational battalion tactical group is made up of a battalion of the Russian 76th Airborne Assault Division (more than 300 men), a reinforced assault battalion of the Belarusian special forces (over 400 men), and a parachute company of a special brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces (50 men).

The subdivision is reduced to four company tactical groups. "The commander of the first company was a Russian officer, the second company - Serbian, the third and fourth mouth - Belarusian officers," explained Sgibnev.



In addition, several Russian Il-76MD military transport aircraft will be involved in the exercises, as well as the Air Force of Belarus.

The exercise "Slavic Brotherhood - 2017" will be held from 6 to 14 June at the Belarusian training ground Brest. The units of the Russian Airborne Forces, servicemen of the Special Operations Forces (MTR) of the Armed Forces of Belarus, as well as of the Serbian Special Forces. The commander of Belarusian MTRs, Major-General Vadim Denisenko, is leading the exercises.
