In their opinion, sanctions should be imposed in connection with its actions in Ukraine and Syria, as well as interference in the elections in the United States. According to Bloomberg, the authors of the document were Republican Senator Michael Craipe, representing Idaho, and Democrat Sherrod Brown, representing Ohio.

The bill, in particular, says that sanctions should impose restrictions on various sectors of the Russian economy, such as mining, metallurgy and rail transportation.

At the same time, the explanatory note to the law says that despite the already imposed sanctions, Russia remains a hostile country that strengthens its armed forces, develops a cyber espionage network and takes economic measures to harm the US and its allies.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the United States can introduce new sanctions against Russia. Sanctions can be introduced this summer.
