If there is de-escalation, this will not happen, and I wish that it was de-escalation. This Monday, May 29, during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Versailles, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

In turn, Putin said that the situation in the Donbass will not change from sanctions. Answering journalists' question how sanctions against Russia will help in the normalization of the crisis in the southeast of Ukraine, the Russian president said that they will not help in any way. At the same time, Putin asked the French press to fight for the abolition of economic restrictions.

French journalists were also interested in the question of the arrested Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko and Makron answered that the issue of human rights was discussed, but did not mention specific names.

At the same time, the French president argued that mentioning particular cases would not help advance the resolution of the situation, adding that the main thing was to find a solution that would be in line with the values ??France is committed to, stressing that he would not compromise these values.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the Palace of Versailles in France ended with the meeting of French President Emmanuel Macron and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
