Ukrainians monitor the anti-corruption struggle of their own authorities with a completely understandable mistrust. And, nevertheless, the accusations are put forward, the suspects are delayed, the cases are heard - and this is only part of the process, which can be described as a change of elites. Already after the Maidan 2013-2014, most of the traditional elite either disappeared or was in the shadow. Undoubtedly, after the next parliamentary and local elections, the renewal will continue - to remain in power during a period of change, a crisis and a request to fight corruption is not easy.

Against this background, the only Ukrainian region that is included in the structure of a foreign state, the Crimea. That's where the real elite stability. I would even say that the Crimea today is more stable than it was under Yanukovych - the "Makeyevsky", who divided the Crimean peninsula with the Crimean clans, were driven out by their more successful competitors, and the leadership of the Crimea became what it was before the introduction of the comrades-in-arms of the outraged president. The last thing that Yanukovych - no longer the president - did for the Crimea - already occupied - helped replace the "Donetsk" premiere of the peninsula with a local "brother".

At first glance, it may look strange. In Russia, it was lamented for years that the Crimea does not develop, is plundered, destroyed - and as a result left to supervise just the peninsula of those people who did not develop it, stolen, destroyed. But this approach is fully consistent with the logic of Putin's "stagnation" - a fertile period for the nomenclature, sucked to places of feeding with a dead grip. Of course, this is not a Brezhnev "stagnation", but a Chekist one, which from time to time is interrupted by the "planting" of one or another loser to competitors of the nomenclator. And at the same time, the elite itself - the elite as a whole - can be sure that its position is unshakable, while in the Kremlin Putin. Special services, propaganda work on this elite, in fact - the state itself.

The Crimean "brothers" simply fit well into the Putin vertical, and the Kremlin simply does not understand why - and most importantly, who - to change them. After all, solid - and devotees - people. Therefore, let them steal.

The process of Ukrainian change will survive many more ups and downs, successes and crises. But most importantly, it will inevitably continue. And the Crimean authorities will become as frozen as a fly in Russian amber ... Original.
