Today, the Verkhovna Rada rejected Decree 2987-P on the abolition of voting results for the ban of St. George's ribbon. In the hall there were 19 votes in favor with the minimum required 226 votes.
The law on the St. George's ribbon introduces into the Code of Administrative Offenses article 173-3 entitled "Manufacturing and propaganda of the St. George's (Guards) ribbon".
For a public demonstration or carrying a tape, a penalty of 50-150 non-taxable minimums (UAH 850-2550). In case of repeated misconduct within one year - from 150 to 300 non-taxable minimums (2550-5100 hryvnia) and administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
At the same time, the document provides for a number of exceptions. In particular, it does not concern veterans of the Second World War and their awards.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada refused to cancel the voting results for the bill, which repeals the law of Savchenko.
The corresponding draft resolution was supported only by 31 deputies, with a required minimum of 226 votes.
Today people's deputies have failed to draft resolutions on cancellation of decisions on quotas on TV.
The draft resolution on the cancellation of the Verkhovna Rada decision of 23 May 2016 on amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning the language of audiovisual media 5313-P was supported by 14 deputies.
