Militants on May 17 on the outskirts of the uncontrolled Ukrainian Dokuchaevsk series threw a smoke grenade towards the patrol car of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. The OSCE CMM reports this on its website in an operational report, reports UNN.

"At 13:47, when the first SMM patrol car was at a distance of 50 meters from the truck, the observers saw one of those men throw an unidentified device (probably a smoke grenade) that fell about 10 meters before the first SMM car. The device burned, forming white smoke.

The SMM patrol bypassed this device, eventually overtook the truck and drove on to the closest known to the observers safe place in Dokuchaevsk, "reads the message.

It is also noted that on the way back patrol saw on the site of the incident traces of burning on asphalt and grass, but the remains of a single device could not be found. The mission patrol successfully returned to its base in Donetsk. None of the SMM cars was damaged. The SMM reported this incident to the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination (SCCC).
