The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine banned one of the main symbols of the "Russian world" - the "St. George" ribbon. For the bill No. 2987 on making an amendment to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding the ban on the production and propaganda of the St. George (Guards) tape in the first reading and as a whole, 238 people's deputies voted,.

As the author of the bill, the representative of the "Popular Front" Anton Gerashchenko, said the initiative is aimed at counteracting Russian aggression in Ukraine. "Georgievsk" or "Colorado" tape is a symbol of aggression against Ukraine, "he stressed, adding that the violation provides for administrative liability - fine. At the same time, according to Gerashchenko, the bill specifies exceptions that relate to veterans who have awards with elements of" St. George's ribbon, museums, etc..
