Klimkin called on the EU to tighten sanctions against Russia

In his opinion, this is necessary for the full implementation of the Minsk accords by Russia. As the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports, today the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department took part in the meeting "Ukraine + Group of Friends of Ukraine in the EU".

The meeting was also attended by the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Affairs Federica Mogherini, the EU Commissioner for the ENP and the expansion talks Johannes Khan, as well as the foreign ministers of the EU member states. The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Vitold Vashchikovsky.

According to the press service, Klimkin informed representatives of the European Union about the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, the continuation of active shelling of Ukrainian positions by Russia and the militants supported by it, in t. Undermining the car of the OSCE Monitoring Mission and the death of civilians in Avdeevka.



At the same time, during his speech, the Minister especially stressed the need to expand the sanctions list at the expense of those involved in the illegal seizure of Ukrainian enterprises in the occupied territories, and also reported on the progress achieved by Ukraine in the context of reforms.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin told the media that today at a meeting of "friends of Ukraine" foreign ministers showed their readiness for Ukraine's way to the EU.
