Israeli military instructor Zvi Arieli believes that with the coming to power in the US of Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin needed even less to organize an offensive against Mariupol, Kharkov or Odessa. He said this in an interview with Apostrophe.

"I think that Putin needs to do something like that now even less than before. I said from the beginning that Trump is good. Many in Ukraine do not understand the US political system. In Ukraine, the President decides a lot, in Ukraine, the AP can call the judge and decide the outcome of a court session, for example. Well, you know how it happens. In the US it absolutely does not work.

In the US, the president, even if he really wants to, can not impose his will on his own faction, Republicans, who are much more militant towards Russia than the same democrats. And the Republicans, like Trump himself, are always more resolute in matters where it is possible or required to use force.

So I was always behind Trump. Of course, there is such a thing as international politics, and you can always give way in one place to get in another. But here, nothing depends on Ukraine, "said the expert..
