The deployment in Romania and Poland of missile defense systems capable of carrying Tomahawk missiles is a gross violation of obligations under this treaty. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In particular, Washington is accused of giving deliberately wrong information about its "fulfillment" of the INF obligations.
"For years, the United States has simply ignored Russia's serious concerns that are directly related to the US implementation of the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles," the commentary says.
The complaint from the Russian Foreign Ministry placed the missile defense in Romania on its base and plans to deploy it on the same Based in Poland, Aegis Eshor ground-based anti-missile systems, which include vertical launch systems, similar to the universal Mk-41, capable of launching medium-range cruise missiles Tomahawk.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Washington did not provide any evidence of Russia's violation of the INF Treaty, and the information provided by the American side was called "fragmentary fragmentary signals".
As previously reported URA-Inform, the US is preparing to launch an intercontinental nuclear missile.
